A Celebration of Legacy and Vision

The occasion, themed "Empowering Communities, Enriching Lives", featured tributes from distinguished guests including Hon. Angela Oforiwa Alorwu-Tay, Acting MD of the Volta Lake Transport Company Limited. In a speech delivered on her behalf by Mr. Godwin Owiredu-Yeboah, she praised VLCCU's journey, highlighting innovations in technology, governance, and member-focused services that go beyond banking—uplifting livelihoods and fostering financial literacy.

Endorsements from Stakeholders

From across Ghana's cooperative community, support poured in:

  • Dr. Stephen Torkpo, Eastern Chapter Chair of Ghana Cooperative Credit Unions Association, lauded VLCCU for its resilience and vision, urging continued focus and ambition.
  • Department of Co-operatives' Asuogyaman District Officer, Mr. Charles Amey Dzoboku, extended a solidarity message on behalf of the Regional Director.
The day culminated in the ceremonial cutting of the anniversary cake—a sweet reminder of VLCCU's transformation from a workplace-based credit union into a community-focused financial institution.

A Journey Rooted in Service

Founded on 5th June, 2000, under the Co-operative Societies' Decree (NLCD 252), VLCCU continues to stand tall—registered and affiliated with the Ghana Cooperative Credit Unions Association—as a model of what unity, vision, and good stewardship can achieve.

Growing Futures, Not Just Numbers

As members left the AGM satisfied and inspired, one truth echoed through Akosombo: VLCCU is not just growing numbers—it's growing futures.
